Keynote: Renewed Vitality through recognizing self-importance

Most people have no problem recognizing the cardinal. These red birds are a part of the finch family.

Cardinals are usualy year-round residents. This follows along with their cycle of power: year round or with a rhythm of 12 (days, hours, months, years).

They remind us that we can renew our vitality and recognize our own self-importance of our lives.

The cardinal has a loud, clear whistle. Whistles are often a reminder to pay attention to what is blowing on the wind. The female joins in with the whistling. (This reminds us to pay attention to the inner (feminine) voice for our health and well-being.) It is unusual for the female to join in the whistling.

Female birds are generally quiet and camoflaged. Cardinal almost always reflects a need to assert the feminine aspects of creativity and intuition.

Cardinals are beneficial and friendly. They eat many weed seeds and detrimental insects. (one of which is the cicada/locust) Cardinal can reflect a need to be more careful of your diet - it may be injurious to you or affecting your overall vitality.

The male cardinal makes a good parent. He shares the taks of incubating the three or four eggs laid by the female (which hatch in about 12 days.). He will often feed the female while she sits on the nest. During incubation of the eggs, the male, who is usually a vivid red color, is muted to match his mate. This all relates to lessons associated with responsibility and recognition of the importance of the task at hand.

The male cardinal usualy has a bright red head with the color becoming duller on the back and wings. He has a bright red colored crest which serves as a warning to rivals and the duller colors on him help to shield him.

These birds are named for the cardinals of the Roman Catholic church with their bright robes.

If cardinal is part of your spirit group, it might reflect past-life connections with the Church or even a reviving of more traditional religious beliefs, regardless of denomination.

When cardinals appear they do so to remind us to brighten the environment and our lives. Remember, everything you do is of importance.
